LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Monday said the NAB had utilized all available resources to ensure speedy advancement on the proceedings of mega corruption cases.
Addressing the NAB officers/officials during his visit to regional NAB office here, he said that the cases of mega corruption references would very soon be presented before the accountability courts with solid evidences.
Javed Iqbal vowed that NAB would continue to strive against the menace of corruption till its complete eradication and said that first time in 70 years of Pakistan, the Bureau held the bigwigs, which were given unlimited power, accountable for looting and plundering the public exchequer merciless instead of up-keeping merit and transparency.
The Chairman NAB mentioned that they had received threats of blowing up the NAB Headquarter's building with explosives.
He said, "NAB focuses only on cases not the faces with sole motto of watching country's interests by curbing the corruption with iron hands, which is evident from the fact that the Bureau has managed to restore its credibility within limited time of seven months."
The Chairman mentioned categorically that NAB had nothing to do with general election.
Appreciating the performance of NAB Lahore, he said that overall performance of NAB's regional office was excellent as it recovered hefty amount of Rs 18 billion from the corrupt elements besides bringing 1,328 accused to justice.
