Election code of conduct to be implemented

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Commissioner DG Khan Division Rana Gulzar Ahmed said on Saturday that election code of conduct would be implemented at any cost.
Presiding over a meeting to review arrangements for elections here, he said that fine of Rs 50,000 would be imposed on violations with the warning and the candidate could stand ineligible over again violation.
He said that all possible resources would be utilized to conduct free and fair elections in the division.
He said the facilities of electricity, water and siting arrangements would be ensured at all polling stations.
The commissioner added that monitoring of sensitive polling stations would be ensured through CCTV cameras.
The commissioner was briefed during the meeting that final list of polling stations would be prepared within two days.
As per initial list, 1016 polling stations would be setup in DG Khan, 1712 in Muzaffargarh, 700 in Layyah and 613 polling stations would be setup in Rajanpur district. He was informed that 534 polling stations have been declared sensitive.
Regional Election Commissioner Shahid Iqbal, deputy commissioner Ali Akbar Bhatti, additional commissioners Zaffar Zia, Rana Shaukat and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
