Elections 2018: Court dismisses petition against Imran's candidacy from NA-243

An appellate tribunal dismissed on Saturday a petition challenging the candidacy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan's from NA-243 Karachi.

Abdul Wahab Baloch, a member of Justice and Democratic Party, had filed a petition challenging the returning officer’s decision in accepting nomination papers of Khan. Baloch in his petition stated that Khan does not fulfill the criteria in Article 62 of the Constitution,as he has not declared his relationship regarding the Sita White case, local media reported.

The returning officer had rejected his appeal after which Baloch filed a petition to the appellate tribunal. Khan will be contesting the general elections from National Assembly constituencies in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Mianwali.

Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry also the head of Justice and Democratic Party in an interview claimed that Khan fathered a child, Tyrian White, daughter of Sita White. Sita is the daughter of  the head of an American industry, Hanson PLC. He claimed that while Khan admitted to being the father of Tyrian abroad, he was not admitting it in Pakistan.
