BUENOS AIRES: Argentina's new central bank Governor Luis Caputo has assured the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that he supports the terms of a $50 billion financing arrangement approved on Wednesday, the Fund's Managing Director Christine Lagarde told reporters.
Caputo, the former finance minister, only replaced Federico Sturzenegger at the helm of the monetary authority on Thursday and thus did not signed the South American country's letter of intent with the Fund. The document bore the signatures of Sturzenegger and Treasury Minister Nicolas Dujovne.
