Mice chew up cash worth Rs 1.3 million from ATM
In what seems to be a rare occurrence, India faced a loss of around Rs 1.3 million when an ATM was attacked by mice who chewed up the money from inside the machine.
On May 19, the amount was deposited in an ATM located at Assam's Tinsukia Laipuli area, by a private security company. The ATM had gone out of service on May 20, Indian media reported. When the machine was opened, the company found the cash to be shredded most of which were in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 2000.

A news editor and anchor of NEWS LIVE, Nandan Pratim Sharma Bordoloi shared a video on Twitter that shows the chewed up amount. The video also shows dead mice under the pile of cash taken out of the ATM.
The amount is believed to be chomped up by mice that managed to enter the machine.
