ROME: Three people were killed and 14 injured when a cruise ship ran aground off an Italian island, a local official said Saturday, revising down an earlier toll of six dead.
"There are three certified dead," Guiseppe Linardi, the top official in Grossetto told Italian media, explaining that difficulties in mounting the rescue of passengers had led to confusion over the death toll.
