Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will present provincial budget for fiscal year 2014-15 with an outlay of some Rs 6.90 trillions in Sindh Assembly on Friday (today). According to sources in Finance Department, the chief minister would present Rs 6.90 trillion budget in the provincial legislature. The budget will carry Rs 168 billions Annual Development Programme (ADP).
Sources said that the chief minister might also announce few new taxes proposed by Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) and Excise and Taxation (E&T) department. Sindh Home department has sought Rs 58 billion funds to deal with the law and order situation and education may get Rs 138 billions. Health department might be allocated some Rs 68 billion while for the development of Thar Coal, provincial government could allocate Rs 13 billion in the ADP.
Some Rs 40 billions has been proposed for District Development Programme (DDP) which is almost double when compared with outgoing year's allocations. The major chunk of budget has been allocated for Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur Mir's and newly-carved divisions including Shaheed Benazirabad and Bhanbhor.
