The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for progress, peace and prosperity of the country and all those who helped Pakistan become the seventh nuclear power of the world and first of the Muslim world.
In Peshawar, the political activists, civil society organizations and PMLN workers staged rallies, conferences and seminars to mark the 20th anniversary of the historic day when Pakistan successfully conducted nuclear tests at Chagi, Balochistan in response to India’s nuclear explosions.

PMLN leader Sardar Aurangzaib Nalota while congratulating the entire nation on Youm e Takbeer’s 20th anniversary told APP that it was a matter of immense pride for all of us when Pakistan became the 7th nuclear power of the world and first of the Muslim country in 1998 during the tenure of PMLN Government.
He said these nuclear tests had given a clear and loud message to the world that despite Pakistan is a peace loving country but it cannot ignore its defence needs and is fully capable of meeting any challenge.
Nalota said credit goes to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who rejected all the international pressure by making defense of the country impregnable and strong on May 28, 1998.
He said PMLN Government would now make Pakistan’s an asian economic tiger after winning general election, which would be held on July 25, 2018.
“PMLN had laid a strong foundation to make Pakistan an Asian economic tiger now in the wake of CPEC’s massive investment in the country and Pakistan has all the potential to join the club of developed economies by 2025 if the present economic policies continues,” he said.
He said PMLN Govt has completed all promises whether it was eradication of load-shedding, elimination of terrorism, KP-Fata merger, construction of motorways and Lowari tunnel project and will contest general election on basis of record development work.
Nalota said PMLN had delivered all energies on development while opponents wasted energies in hallow slogans and agitation politics.
