PRAGUE: The Czech central bank expects the crown to return to its appreciation trend after the currency fell to its lowest levels in 2018 last week, Governor Jiri Rusnok said in a live interview with news website idnes.cz on Monday.
Rusnok reiterated comments he made last week when he told Reuters he believed the crown will return to appreciation in the coming weeks backed by economic fundamentals.
The central bank's staff forecasts see a likely rate hike coming around the end of the year although Rusnok has said a weaker-than-expected crown could move that increase forward.
