Egypt's sugar reserves at 750,000 tonnes, vegetable oil sufficient for 3-4 months - minister

CAIRO: Egypt's strategic reserves of sugar are at 750,000 tonnes while stocks of vegetable oil are enough to supply the country for 3-4 months, Supply Minister Ali Moselhy said on Monday.

Moselhy did not specify the quantity of vegetable oil in tonnes.

Egypt expects to produce about 2.3 million tonnes of sugar this year and consumes about 3 million tonnes, filling the gap with imports.
