MIRPUR (AJK): Azad Jammu and Kashmir is peaceful region with centuries old traditions of tolerance and no one would be allowed to tarnish the image of the area by indulging in activities repugnant to the norms of society, said AJK Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider Khan.

He expressed these views after offering Fateha and condolence with the family of a young student, Raja Qaiser Khan, who was assassinated last week in AJK’s capital city.

"The culprits involved in the heinous crime of murder will be dealt with iron hand, no matter from which party, clan or group they belong to," Prime Minister Khan resolved.

He said that a stern action would be taken against those who possessed fire arms or displayed the same in the educational institution.

He expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the murder of promising young student and assured the bereaved family that murderers will be brought to Justice at all cost.

The AJK Prime Minister further expresses his firm determination to purge the educational institution from the criminals and ordered the police to launch an operation in order to cleanse the educational institution from criminal elements and illegal arms.

He disclosed that government was contemplating to restore students union in the educational institution with the aim to provide healthy environment to the student. However, he said that before restoration of students union, government would introduce a code of conduct for the political activities in the educational institutions.

Earlier Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan also visited the home of former Assistant Chief Planning of Planning & Development Department Raja Shehraz Qamar at Majohi in the outskirts of Muzaffarabad to condole with the family on his death.
