ISLAMABAD: Director General, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi, Irfan Naeem Mangi on Thursday said that Bureau believes on across the board accountability and focuses on cases rather faces.

Addressing a seminar entitled "Transparency & Standardization of Rules/Procedures: keys of good governance" organized by NAB here at National Library, he said the money which was supposed to be used for development of country has been laundered abroad in shape of offshore companies.

He said procedural delays spanning several years in completion of development projects causes huge loss to national exchequer.

NAB carried out a concerted campaign for awareness and prevention with prime focus on youth. In this regard NAB organizes seminars regularly on theme - Fight against Corruption in universities, colleges and schools.

He said under Chairman NAB, Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal's directions, the Bureau was committed to eradicating corruption by ensuring accountability for all through effective enforcement and prosecution as well as by raising awareness among general public against ill effects of corruption.

NAB has formalized interaction with youth through setting up of 1840 Character Building Societies (CBS). The platform was used to conduct declamation contests, essay writing competition, posters, and painting competition to channelize creative energy of youth towards fight against corruption.

Former DG NAB, Syed Khalid Iqbal, Shakeel Durrani, former Chairman Wapda, Ali Taimoor Director HR PPRA and Majid Iqbal, HOD computer sciences department COMSATS university also spoke on the occasion.
