ISLAMABAD: Senators Pervaiz Rashid and Mushahidullah Khan here on Thursday condemned the police action against the journalist’s rally and said that the community is facing many challenges while performing their duties.
Pervaiz Rashid said that on World Press Freedom Day, action against the journalists is condemnable.
The owner of the one of the biggest media houses informed Supreme Court of Pakistan about the closure of his channel.
The Senator said it would have been much better if the opposition had also highlighted the closure of the Media House.
He said constitution of the country guaranteed freedom of expression.
Mushahidullah Khan strongly condemned the police action and said information minister will issue a detailed statement in the House on Friday.
Senators from the opposition also strongly condemned the police action against journalists’ rally.
