Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has said that he needs his top bowler Mohammad Amir to be at his best in the upcoming Test series against England and Ireland.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Arthur said that Amir has been training hard and he got full backing from the team and supporting staff. "Amir has trained hard, we have had four weeks of tough training in Lahore and he will be here and could feature in the game [against Kent]," said Arthur.
Praising Amir as Pakistan’s number one bowler at the moment, the head coach said that the speedster has stepped up on most occasions and that they will need him to be swinging the ball and bowling slightly fuller in order to cause most impact.

"He is our number one bowler. We back him in tough situations and he generally gets it done for us. We need him to get the ball swinging and get his length slightly fuller and if he does that he will ask a lot of questions [of batsmen]," said Arthur.
The head coach expressed hope that the tours to Pakistan would open doors for international cricket in the country. "The passion and excitement of Pakistanis to see international cricket at home was amazing and for our players to play in front of their people and families was amazing too. Hope these tours [to Pakistan] open up doors for international cricket in Pakistan," said Arthur.
Pakistan will play against Ireland, which will be their first-ever Test against Pakistan from May 11 to May 15 in Dublin. Pakistan will then play two Tests against England at Lord’s from May 24 to May 28 and Headingley from June 1 to June 5.
