UN urged to take measures for resolving Kashmir dispute

ISLAMABAD: Speaker Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, Shah Ghulam Qadir Friday called the United Nations to take measures for resolving Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions for permanent peace in South Asia.

Talking to a news channel, he said people of Kashmir were running indigenous freedom movement and never accepted Indian illegal occupation.

He urged the need to take up matter of Kashmir on all forums with continuity and political stability in Pakistan was vital for the purpose.

The speaker said that political, moral and diplomatic support would be continued to highlight plight of Kashmiri people in front of international community.

Former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed said supreme sacrifices were being rendered by people of Kashmir in their movement against Indian forces.

He said India wanted to suppress indigenous freedom movement by use of force, political tactics and by imposing economic bars but remained fail.

Sardar Attique said the international community will one day must accept right to self determination of Kashmiri people.

He lauded the struggle being carried by Hurriyet Conference to keep alive the Kahsmir movement.

Member AJK Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rasheed Turabi said that India was facing failure despite the use of force against innocent Kashmiri people.

He said martyrdom of freedom fighter Burhan Wani had intensified Kashmir movement and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also vigorously raised the Kashmir issue at UN.
