LAHORE: Bullish trend prevailed in Lahore Stock Exchange on the opening day (Monday) of first week of 2012 gaining 23.09 points as the LSE-25 index opened with 2794.16 and closed at 2817.25 points.
The market's overall situation, however, did not correspond to an upward trend as it remained at 649,399 shares to close against previous turnover of 1.236 million shares, showing a downward slide of 586,756 shares.
While, out of the total 89 active scrips 21 moved up, 53 remained equal and 15 shed values. Fauji Fertilizer Company, Engro Corportation Limited and MCB Bank Limited were the major gainers of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 3.94, Rs 2.37 and Rs 2.00 respectively.
Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, Millat Tractors Limited and Attock Refinery Limited lost their per share value by Rs 5.50, Rs 3.19 and Rs 2.53 respectively.
The Volume Leader of the day included The Bank of Punjab Limited with 144,796 shares, NIB Bank Limited with 101,100 shares and Fatima Fertilizer Company with 90,649 shares.
