If you are waiting for Android Oreo update for your Samsung Galaxy S6 series, unfortunately you won't get it anymore as Samsung has now cut off updates for the Galaxy S6 family.

The company has disclosed that the lineup that consists of Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy S6 Active, will not receive any sort of updates from Samsung, security or otherwise. The smartphones will expire running on Android 7.0 Nougat and won’t get any further from nougat software.

Users can experience Galaxy S9/S9+ via Samsung’s new app

As per Tech Juice, on its Android Security Upgrades page, Samsung has listed down its all devices that get the monthly or quarterly updates. Completing three years, the S6 series have reached their expiration time for getting the security updates. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have been removed from the support page, however, S6 Edge+ and S6 Active are still there. But, by this year’s end, these two phones will expire as well and the entire lineup will not be able to get any sort of updates.

The smartphone was released back in April 2015 and features Android 5.0 Lollipop version, which then upgraded to Marshmallow before finally being updated to Nougat. However, after three years, the company has decided to stop these updates for the previous phones. Unfortunately, S6 family’s users won’t be getting the latest Android Oreo updates for their smartphones.
