ISLAMABAD: Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat met under the chairmanship of Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, MNA in Peshawar on Tuesday.
The Committee strongly opposed plan of outsourcing of PIA and recommended that government may take stringent measures for the revival of PIA in order to save the national flag carrier.
The Committee appreciated the efforts of present Management of PIA which able to reduced the accommodating losses of PIA from Rs.32 billion to Rs.26 billion during the recent years and their efforts to bring it on Rs.18 billion during the current year.
It pointed out if such efforts would be carried on, the PIA would be able to regain its status very soon.
It committee expressed grave concern over the open sky policy and landing rights even to the foreign flights which able to grape potential of PIA.
The Committee directed that PIA/CAA may provide complete detail within 7 days of the meeting.
