ISLAMABAD: National Highway Authority (NHA) has planned dualization of 25 km Sialkot-Pasrur Road and for this purpose intends to engage a Consultant/Engineering Organization to carry out detailed design/review and construction supervision for dualization of the road.
Pre-Proposal Conference for the 25.64 km project will be held on April 4, in the NHA auditorium. Proposals completed in all respect in sealed envelopes would be accepted by April 17, at 1130 hours in NHA auditorium.
The technical proposals shall be opened on the same day whereas the financial proposals of only technically qualified firms shall be opened after finalization of technical evaluation.
The project envisages the construction of a new 2-lane additional carriageway on NHA standards in addition to the improvement, widening and strengthening of the existing Sialkot-Pasrur road. The existing structures/ bridges will also be improved as a 4-lane facility.
The project would ensure easy flow of traffic and increase in vehicle operating speed which will activate the overall socio-economic development of the area and save the travel distance by about 25.64 km in one trip of HTV and LTV and would reduce vehicle operating foreign exchanges on fuel and spare parts.
It would also help reduce poverty and provide better access for population to markets and social services by improving and rehabilitating the rural access road network.
It would also provide employment opportunities during and after the construction of the project, thus alleviating the poverty of the area.
