PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak has said that Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) was the latest mega scheme that would improve transport system in the provincial metropolis on scientific grounds.

He was chairing review meeting on BRT at Chief Minister House here on Tuesday.

The meeting among others was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioner Peshawar, Head SSU, administrative secretaries of concerned department.

CM directed authorities to ensure high standards of rapid buses with special focus on facilitation of ladies, children, aged and handicapped people. He directed timely availability of buses and completion of all related arrangements to launch the project as early as possible.

He reiterated that BRT would solve transport problems in the provincial metropolis and add to the beautification of city.

He said that work on main corridor of the project was going with full swing adding delay in any section of the project would not be tolerated. Pervez Khattak instructed authorities to work with devotion ensuring quality and timely completion of the project.

He also directed for increasing numbers of traffic police official at different squares and turn around to ensure proper traffic management in the city.
