PESHAWAR: Spring tree plantation drive kicked off at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) here on Tuesday during a simple ceremony.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain being chief guest of the ceremony planted a sapling to inaugurate the drive. Registrar UET, Dr Khizar Azam, senior faculty members and administration officers were present on this occasion.
The vice chancellor in his brief address to the participants said by carrying out proper tree plantation drives we can overcome the challenge of global environmental changes and provide our next generations a healthy atmosphere.
He also stressed upon the students to plant trees at their homes and take care of plants in their surroundings especially in the university’s premises.
