Four accused of bank dacoity arrested, 11kg gold recovered

MULTAN: Police arrested four accused of a bank dacoity at Shujabad and recovered 11kg gold from their possession here on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference here at Police Lines, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Idrees Ahmed said six unidentified accused looted 22 kilogram gold worth Rs 83.1 millions, cash Rs 47,000 and four mobile phones from Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank branch in City Shujabad police limits on December 11, 2017.
He said that a case was registered against the accused and a special team led by SSP Operation Saifullah Khattak was formed to arrest the criminals.
The police team arrested four accused, including Naseem Shah, Muhammad Asghar and an employee of the bank branch, Sajjad, he said and added police also recovered more than 11 kilogram gold from their possession.
The RPO said that police were investigating the case as there were four more accused involved in the dacoity. He said that action would also be taken against the bank administration for not following the security SoP as per security ordinance.
