Kamran Akmal has smashed the fastest half century of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) history, as Peshawar Zalmi posted a massive 170 runs total against Karachi Kings in the second eliminator at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

Batting first, the defending champions went off to a flying start thanks to brilliant batting display by Kamran Akmal and Andre Fletcher. Both posted 107 runs for the opening stand in 9.1 overs.

After smashing the fifty, he lost his wicket after scoring 77 off 27 deliveries while Fletcher went to the pavilion after scoring quick 34.

Kamran achieved the feat in just 17 balls, surpassing Islamabad United’s Luke Ronchi, as Karachi Kings were hit all over the park in 16-overs-a-side match after opting to bowl.

Skipper Darren Sammy added final touches to the innings and guide the total to 170/7 in 16 overs. Sammy made 23 runs.

Usman Khan Shinwari was hammered for 48 runs in his three overs while skipper Mohammad Amir bowled beautifully and just gave away 16 runs in his four overs spell. Ravi Bopara picked up three wickets for the Kings.
