BEIJING: China's power consumption rose 2 percent from a year ago to 455.7 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) in February, the country's energy administration said on Tuesday.
Over the two months ended February, power consumption increased 13.3 percent to 1.06 trillion kWh, the National Energy Administration (NEA) said on its website.
China's industrial power consumption dropped 4.5 percent in February from a year ago to 273.3 billion kWh.
But total industrial power consumption over the first two months of the year reached 684.5 billion kWh, up 11.2 percent, data from the NEA showed.
The country's total installed generation capacity reached 1,704.91 gigawatts for the two months ended February, up 6.3 percent, according to the NEA.
