No room for Kamran Akmal despite sensational performance at PSL

Although the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) has failed to provide with a significant number of new faces, the tournament has been a turnaround platform for many, including wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal.
The veteran batsman Akmal provided a strong case for his re-admission into the national squad, thanks to impressive batting display at PSL. The Peshawar Zalmi opener emerged as the top run-getter for his side, hitting 347 runs of 10 matches, including a blistering and unbeaten knock of 107 runs.
This was Akmal’s second ton in PSL and the first in this season of PSL. Although Pakistan cricket head coach Mickey Arthur is impressed with Akmal's recent form, however, the wicketkeeper batsman is unlikely to make into the national squad, at least for the foreseeable future.
"To be brutally honest, we are going with a young team, we are moving forward now. He played beautifully today, he did. He was outstanding,” said Arthur.
“But then again, it comes back to where he fields because Sarfraz Ahmed is going to keep wickets. There are a lot of things to weigh up and I think we got a T20 side now that's number one in the world. So, there's not going to be too many changes for that West Indies series," he at the post match conference.
Akmal would be seen in action tomorrow (Tuesday), as his side the Peshawar Zalmi takes on Quetta Gladiators in the first eliminator of PSL at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
