KARACHI: Sindh Labour, Human Resources and Social Protection Minister Saeed Ghani here on Saturday said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has not received any draft of the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment and will decide its position after examining its provisions, adding that the party will support changes aimed at strengthening democracy and the economy.
He said Karachi, which provided employment to people from across the country and played a vital role in sustaining the national economy, also deserved greater support from the federal government.
Ghani spoke to the media after inaugurating the Pakistan First Furniture Trade Show-2026 at the Karachi Expo Centre. The second edition of the exhibition, organised by the Pakistan Furniture Association, has been dedicated to Allama Iqbal.
On the proposed constitutional amendment, he said the PPP would examine the draft once the party formally received it. “If the proposed amendment is aimed at bringing improvements, the PPP will certainly support it. Any shortcomings will also be examined and discussed,” he said, adding that the party supported constitutional amendments that strengthened democracy and the country’s economy.
