LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has assured the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) of full support in resolving business community issues, removing regulatory hurdles and promoting industrialisation, saying the provincial government is accelerating digitalisation to create a business-friendly environment and attract investment.

She gave the assurance during a meeting with LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar, who highlighted issues concerning the district economy, the PERA Force, proposed amendments to laws and regulations, and measures needed to facilitate businesses, promote investment and accelerate industrial development.

Congratulating Asghar on his election as LCCI president, Maryam Nawaz said the government was committed to addressing the concerns of traders and industrialists. She said the eBiz initiative was aimed at simplifying business-related procedures and improving access to government services through digitalisation.

The government was working to eliminate red tape and administrative obstacles that hinder industrial activity, she added. The Chief Minister assured the LCCI delegation that its actionable proposals and recommendations would be considered for implementation to facilitate businesses and expand commercial and industrial activities across Punjab.

The LCCI president appreciated the government’s initiatives and stressed that a peaceful law-and-order environment was essential for business continuity, investor confidence and economic growth. He said the welfare of the business community and timely resolution of its issues was vital for sustainable economic progress.
