KARACHI: Renowned businessman Khalid Tawab has been elected unopposed as Chairman of the Pakistan Iron & Steel Merchants Association (PISMA) for the 2026-28 term.
According to the election results, M Hanif Sabuwala and Saleem Baber have been elected Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively, of PISMA.
The Election Commission, headed by Abdul Razzak and comprising Faisal Marfani and Muhammad Bilal as members, announced the names of the newly elected office-bearers and members of the Executive Committee.
As per announcement, Ch Aftab Ahmed Khan, Muhammed Rehan Irshad, Ali Asghar Jivani, Mehmood, Abdul Wahid, Nasir Marfani and Farhan Irshad have been elected member of the Executive Committee the association unopposed.
Newly elected PISMA Chairman Khalid Tawab thanked the former chairmen and members of the Executive Committee, saying that he would make every effort to live up to the confidence reposed in him by the business community.
He said that the steel and iron industry is playing a vital role the economic growth and its contribution is essential for strengthening the national economy.
Tawab also expressed his commitment that the new Executive Committee of PISMA would work for the promotion of the iron industry and trade.
On the occasion, PISMA former Chairman Ismail Agaria, former Senior Vice Chairman Safdar Iqbal, former Vice Chairman Muhammed Idress and senior members congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and conveyed their best wishes for their tenure.
