Three dead, 12 hurt in gas explosion in Karak

KARAK: Three people breathed their last and 12 were critically wounded when an explosion occurred during gas connection work in Karak on Friday.

The blast occurred near OGDCL in the Sapina area of Karak. One part of the building was gutted after the explosion.

Soon after receiving the report, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation to recover the persons who were trapped under the debris. Rescue officials said that they rescued 10 persons, including one minor girl, while three persons were dead.

After the incident, all the dead and injured persons were shifted to the hospital. Four ambulances, one recovery van, and 13 rescuers participated in the operation.
