KARACHI: Futures trading activity at the Pakistan Stock Exchange increased sharply during the week ended September 25, 2026. The futures spread narrowed by 30 basis points to 4.22 percent from 4.52 percent while average daily turnover surged 337.0 percent week-on-week to 509.00 million shares from 116.48 million shares
Analysts say the decline in futures spread represented the sharp increase in both futures volume and value.
Average daily futures trade value also rose substantially by 212.5 percent to Rs20.40 billion during the week, compared with Rs6.53 billion in the preceding week, reflecting significantly higher participation in the derivative segment.
Overall, the futures segment recorded a substantial expansion in trading participation during the week, even as the futures spread narrowed and the broader equity market remained cautious.
