LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari, responding to Fawad Chaudhry over the payment made by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, said unnecessary propaganda was being spread over the clearing date mentioned on the cheque.

She said that normal cheques in Pakistan are cleared the following day, adding that this is a standard banking procedure. Once the amount is deposited in banks, the clearance takes place the next day.

Azma Bokhari said Grok itself had given an answer to Fawad Chaudhry’s ignorance. She said that a person who used to operate a helicopter at the rate of Rs55 per kilometre, and whose leader spent billions of rupees, would be better off remaining silent.

Moreover, Azma Bokhari said that the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project is among the five major projects in the world and is the largest project in Pakistan. The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project has been developed by the Punjab government through its own resources.

She said that in the history of Pakistan, no other government had ever received an award of such magnitude as the one being awarded to Maryam Nawaz. Under the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project, 202,913 houses have been built, while 118,088 houses have been completed. Another 53,233 houses are under construction.

Azma Bokhari said that providing deserving and homeless people with their own homes was Maryam Nawaz’s dream. Alhamdulillah, in just two years, Maryam Nawaz has succeeded in providing homes to more than 200,000 people.

Maryam Nawaz has set a target of providing “Apni Chhat” to 500,000 people within five years.

She said that after the “Suthra Punjab” project, the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project was another global recognition of Maryam Nawaz’s good governance. Maryam Nawaz’s successful projects are bringing recognition to Punjab and Pakistan around the world. Her two-year performance is a clear testimony to her achievements.
