KARACHI: Indus Motor Company Limited (IMC) closed the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026 with an impressive 33 percent growth in unit sales.

According to the details, the IMC sold 45,035 units during the year, up 33 percent from FY2024-25, outpacing the broader industry’s recovery. Net sales revenue climbed to PKR 258.75 billion from PKR 215.14 billion a year earlier.

Profitability also improved. Profit before taxation and levy rose to PKR 42.82 billion from PKR 37.67 billion, which the company attributed to cost discipline, higher localization of parts, and favorable currency movement. Net profit after tax increased to PKR 25.51 billion from PKR 23.01 billion, while earnings per share rose to PKR 324.50 from PKR 292.74.

The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) recorded a strong recovery in passenger and light commerical vehicles sales, which rose 39 percent to more than 206,000 units for the year, driven by improving consumer confidence, easier access to auto financing, new product launches, and steps to curb used-vehicle imports.

However, used-vehicle imports still made up roughly 19 percent if the market, the PAMA said, highlighting policy consistency to protect local industry.

IMC Chairman Mohamedali R Habib described FY2025-26 as a year of “economic stabilization and gradual recovery” for Pakistan, and said the company’s performance reflected the resilience of its business, brands and teams. He further said that a stable, predictable policy environment would be essential as the automotive industry moves through a period of policy transition, particularly to support localization, innovation and technology transfer.

CEO Ali Asghar Jamali said the unit sales growth and stronger financials reflected recovering market demand and brand strength, and that the company would continue to prioritize operational efficiency, innovation, localization and disciplined capital allocation.

The IMC also highlighted progress on environmental and social programs during the year. The company said it became the first automaker in Pakistan to complete a nationwide plantation of one million trees, alongside planting 16,000 mangroves along the Sindh coastline.

It reported that 85 percent of its dealerships now run on solar power, along with more than 13 percent of its local suppliers, and pointed to carbon-reduction projects at its manufacturing plant.

Through its “Concern Beyond Cars” CSR programme, the IMC said it invested PKR 377 million in community initiatives during the year, reaching 255,761 people, a 27 percent increase over the previous year.
