LAHORE: Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said on Saturday that the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology (JIC) will prove to be a game changer, as the patients in this healthcare facility will be provided with international level medical facilities.
Khawaja Salman visited the JIC and reviewed the administrative affairs of the institute in detail.
Dean Prof Dr Hasnat Khan, Executive Director Punjab Institute of Cardiology Prof Syed Imran-ul-Hassan Shah, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Dr Tayyaba Waseem, MS JIC Colonel Sabrina Jamil (retd) were present.
Khawaja, while expressing his views, said that the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology has been established at a cost of Rs 16 billion. It is the first hospital to be built in an international style with 250 beds, with facilities of Cath Lab, MRI, Modular Operation Theatres and Cardiac Wards, Pathology Lab, Radiology, ICU and Emergency Ward, Functional Heart Transplant Center, Angio Suite, Diagnostic Room, OPD and other departments. The latest Heart Lungs Machine, Tesla MRI and other modern medical machinery in the Modular Operation Theatre are a source of joy. Alhamdulillah, the first angiography has also been done on the latest machine at the JIC.
Moreover, an important meeting regarding Nawaz Sharif Medical District Lahore was held at IDAP under the chairmanship of Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique.
CEO IDAP Captain Shah Mir Iqbal (retd) and other concerned officers attended the meeting. A detailed review of the Nawaz Sharif Medical District Lahore project was taken in the meeting. IDAP officers informed about the latest progress on the project.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that revolutionary and historic projects worth billions of rupees are being launched in the health sector. Under the Nawaz Sharif Medical District Project, Children’s Hospital 2 and Institute of Genetic and Blood Diseases, Institute of Surgical, Orthopedic and Medical Rehabilitation, Center of Excellence for Nursing Education, Specialized Medical Hospital, a cardiac hospital, a medical university and a state-of-the-art diagnostic lab will be built.
IDAP has been directed to complete work on various new health projects at the earliest. A network of new government hospitals is being laid across the province for the convenience of the people. Providing the best health facilities to the people at their doorstep is the top priority. We want the people not to face any problem in health facilities. The Nawaz Sharif Medical District project is being continuously monitored.
