KARACHI: PIA has signed an agreement with Norse Atlantic, for acquiring two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners by next month (November 2026).

According to the PIA, the addition of Boeing 787 Dreamliners mark the beginning of PIA’s expansion.

By enhancing fleet requirement, the airline aims to meet the rising demand with direct flights and broader global connectivity.

The aircraft are expected to join PIA in November, 2026 and operate direct long haul flights to United Kingdom from Pakistan, PIA said.

These aircraft will facilitate PIA flight operations between different points in UK and Pakistan.

This dynamic partnership between PIA and Norse provides the cutting-edge aircraft, expert crew, maintenance, and insurance and augments PIA’s ambitious route expansion while enabling Norse to rapidly redeploy its returning fleet.

CEO PIA, AVM Amir Hayat said, “UK is an important market for PIA, and this agreement will allow us to expand the much-needed capacity and provide greater choice and connectivity for passengers travelling on these routes.

“This is first set of Dreamliners that is being adopted by Pakistani market and we hope it will provide dream journey to our valued guests who been expecting premium services from PIA.”

Eivind Roald, CEO of Norse Atlantic said: “As previously communicated, we have been working to redeploy capacity into new Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance opportunities, and we are now delivering that strategy.

“We are pleased to support PIA’s long-haul capacity expansion and to strengthen connectivity between the UK and Pakistan by providing the large Pakistani community in the UK with more options for travel between the two countries. We see this as the start for a strategic partnership between the two companies.”
