The Pakistan Influencer Awards, a new industry-backed platform aimed at recognising digital creators through a transparent and data-driven evaluation process, was officially launched in Karachi on Friday.
Positioning itself as a first-of-its-kind initiative in Pakistan, the platform seeks to shift the focus from popularity-based recognition to measurable impact, credibility and authenticity as the country’s creator economy continues to expand.
According to the organisers, the awards will assess creators using a research-led framework that considers factors such as meaningful audience engagement, consistency, community impact, educational value and influence across diverse demographics.
The initiative is supported by an advisory board comprising senior professionals from media, communications and research sectors. Organisers said the board will oversee a transparent evaluation process designed to strengthen trust, accountability and industry standards within Pakistan’s digital creator ecosystem.
The launch event featured keynote sessions and panel discussions on the future of the creator economy, followed by the unveiling of the awards’ brand identity and trophy.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Curator Talha Aslam said the platform aims to establish meaningful benchmarks for the creator economy rather than simply recognise popularity.
“Our ambition is not simply to recognise creators but to elevate the entire ecosystem by advocating credibility, transparency and responsible influence, while establishing a standard that creators, brands and audiences can trust,” he said.
The event also included discussions by advisory board members Fouad Husain, Chief Executive Officer of Starcrest Communications (Pvt.) Ltd., Hasan Rizvi, Chief Executive Officer of BBPR Pakistan, and Jerjees Seja, Chief Executive Officer of ARY Digital Network.
Faraz Bashir, Director Data, Insights & Evaluation, and Hassaan Azhar, Director Partnerships & Growth, outlined the awards’ evaluation methodology, partnerships and commercial framework, while Abdul Sattar Babar, Chief Executive Officer of Ipsos in Pakistan, presented the research, audit and transparency mechanisms underpinning the awards.
The evening concluded with a panel discussion featuring digital creators Asad Memon, Bilal Munir, Junaid Akram and Natasha Lakhani, moderated by Dino Ali.
Organisers said the Pakistan Influencer Awards is intended to become an annual platform that recognises creators shaping conversations, educating audiences and building online communities, while contributing to the professionalisation of Pakistan’s rapidly growing creator economy.
