KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi on Saturday inaugurated its 76th Water Filtration Plant along with a Water ADM (Automated Water Dispensing Machine) under its WASH Programme at Al Hilal Society in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, expanding access to safe drinking water for local residents.
The project aims to provide clean drinking water round the clock through the automated dispensing system, allowing residents to collect water even when the filtration plant is temporarily closed for maintenance by using access cards.
The filtration plant has been established in collaboration with Al Hilal Society, where the demand for safe drinking water was high. The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of Alkhidmat, local government officials, community leaders and residents.
With the latest installation, Alkhidmat has completed 76 water filtration plants across Karachi and 1,200 boreholes in different parts of the city, particularly in areas facing shortages of clean drinking water.
The Water ADM system, designed and developed by Alkhidmat, has now been installed at six locations in Karachi to ensure an uninterrupted supply of drinking water and provide residents with convenient access without requiring assistance. Alkhidmat said it plans to expand the initiative to more communities across the city.
