The federal government on Thursday increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for July 24 under the revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot price of petrol (Motor Spirit) by Rs4.40 per litre, taking it to Rs331.52 per litre from Rs327.12.
The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was increased by Rs3.62 per litre to Rs378.66 per litre, up from Rs375.04.
The revised prices will take effect from July 24, 2026, and have been notified in line with the government’s revised petroleum pricing mechanism, under which fuel prices are being adjusted on a daily basis to reflect changes in international oil markets.
Petrol is primarily used by private vehicles, motorcycles and rickshaws, while HSD is widely consumed by heavy transport, agriculture and industrial sectors. Changes in diesel prices are generally considered inflationary due to their impact on freight and transportation costs.
