GPAK announces Rs1.4bn metallizer acquisition to expand production capacity

International Packaging Films Limited announced on Wednesday that Global Packaging Films (Private) Limited (GPAK), a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has approved the acquisition of a state-of-the-art metallizer at an estimated project cost of approximately Rs1.4 billion.
The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange in a notice today.
“The investment forms part of the Group’s ongoing strategy to increase the proportion of value-added products in its packaging films portfolio,” the notice said.
It added that the metallizer will further strengthen GPAK’s metallizing capabilities, expand its production capacity for value-added metallized packaging films, enhance operational efficiencies and support growing demand from domestic and export markets.
International Packaging Films Limited was established in Pakistan as a Greenfield project in 2015 to manufacture Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films. Initially the company was incorporated as a private limited company in 2015 and was later converted into public limited company in 2021.
The company got listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange in June 2024.
The company is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of BOPP, CPP and BOPET films for both domestic and international markets.
