KARACHI: On the directives of Director General of Karachi Development Authority Asif Jan Siddiqui, KDA Member Finance Naveed Anwar Siddiqui held a key meeting with a delegation from the State Bank of Pakistan to discuss affordable financing schemes and welfare initiatives to improve the financial well-being of government employees.
The SBP delegation, led by Assistant Director, Financial Inclusion Division, Muhammad Daniyal Khan, briefed KDA officials on a range of financing programmes being introduced through scheduled banks under the central bank’s oversight.
KDA Secretary Muhammad Arshad Khan and Director Estate & Enforcement Shakeel Ahmed Khan also attended the meeting.
During the briefing, the delegation said eligible government employees would be able to obtain housing finance at a subsidized five percent markup for the purchase or construction of homes under a new low-cost housing finance scheme.
The delegation also highlighted special financing programmes offering zero-markup or easy-installment facilities for the purchase of electric motorcycles, solar panels and CNG rickshaws to slash employees’ financial burden and promoting sustainable mobility and clean energy.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveed Anwar Siddiqui said the welfare of KDA employees remains a top priority.
He expressed confidence that the State Bank’s financing initiatives would enable employees to fulfill their dream of home ownership while benefiting from a range of modern banking and financial services.
He also announced that banking counters of various commercial banks would be established on the ground floor of the KDA Head Office to provide employees with convenient access to financial services under one roof.
Siddiqui thanked the State Bank delegation for introducing employee-focused financial initiatives, saying such programmes would significantly improve the economic well-being and quality of life of KDA staff. KDA plans to organize more awareness sessions in collaboration with financial institutions to help employees fully benefit from the available schemes.
