KARACHI: Pakistan exported approximately USD4.5 billion worth of information technology (IT) products and services during fiscal year 2025-26, as the country’s digital economy continued to expand and technology firms diversified into new markets beyond the United States and Europe.

Pakistan’s IT exports has increased from USD3.475 billion in the previous fiscal year, maintaining uninterrupted growth throughout FY26.

Pakistani small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) were increasingly expanding into Asia-Pacific (APAC) markets, including Japan and Singapore, reducing their traditional reliance on the US and European markets.

In addition to software development services, high-growth segments such as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and gaming continued to scale globally, supported by Pakistan’s young, skilled and cost-competitive workforce.

Nagesh Devata, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC at Payoneer, said the sustained growth reflected continued global demand for Pakistan’s digital services and an increasing focus by the industry on developing diversified revenue streams across multiple international markets.

He said expanding into the Asia-Pacific region also required businesses to adapt to different local payment ecosystems, making reliable cross-border financial infrastructure increasingly important for exporters.

The statement added that Payoneer was strengthening its support for Pakistani exporters by providing multi-currency payment capabilities, enabling businesses to receive and manage payments in major international currencies, including the US dollar, euro, British pound, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, Japanese yen and Singapore dollar.
