Security forces have killed nine more terrorists in Balochistan in the latest engagements under the ongoing Operation Shaban, Radio Pakistan reported.
In their joint operations, the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan and police targeted Khwarij alias Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan terrorists hiding in rugged terrain and mountains.
“This has taken the total number of Khwarij killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations to 88 since July 5,” the state media reported.
According to security sources, Operation Shaban will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist from Balochistan, it added.
A look at the background of the entire operation shows that it was launched following a tragic incident that occurred in Balochistan’s Ziarat district at the very beginning of July, Aaj News reported.
Terrorists had carried out a major attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station, in which nine brave police personnel were martyred.
Immediately after the attack, the government and security agencies decided to dismantle the entire network of terrorists and destroy their hideouts.
Under this decision, the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police launched a joint operation with the primary objective of eliminating banned militant groups and insurgents from the area, protecting the lives and property of the public, and restoring peace.
