Saylani’s livelihood-support programme: TIKA donates 20 rickshaws to unemployed individuals
KARACHI: Consul General of Türkiye in Karachi, Ergül Kadak, has said that serving in Pakistan is a great honour for him and that he is deeply impressed by the wide-ranging humanitarian and social-welfare activities of Saylani Welfare International Trust.
He said Pakistan and Türkiye, in addition to being brotherly Islamic countries, were united by an enduring bond of friendship. He reaffirmed that Türkiye would continue cooperating with Saylani in humanitarian and welfare initiatives, as it had done in the past.
The Consul General expressed these views while addressing a ceremony as chief guest at the Saylani Zaitoon Ashraf IT Park in Karachi.
The ceremony was organized by Saylani Welfare International Trust in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency—T?KA. During the event, 20 new rickshaws donated by T?KA were handed over to unemployed individuals to help them earn sustainable livelihoods and become financially independent.
Saylani Welfare International Trust Founder and Chairman Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooqi and TIKA’s Head for the Sindh and Balochistan Region, Mashuk Pusha, also addressed the gathering.
Saylani trustees Arif Lakhani, Abu Faisal and Raees Fateh; Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Ghazal; and several other distinguished personalities attended the ceremony.
Before the formal proceedings, Consul General Ergül Kadak was shown a detailed documentary highlighting Saylani’s humanitarian services, ongoing welfare programmes and future projects.
During his conversation with Maulana Bashir Farooqi, the Consul General appreciated the scale of Saylani’s humanitarian work.
“You are carrying out remarkable work. Saylani’s prompt assistance to the earthquake-affected people of Türkiye and its humanitarian services for Syrian refugees has become part of history,” he said.
