Sri Lankan shares snap longest losing streak since September 2024

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Friday, led by IT and healthcare stocks.
The CSE All-Share index settled 0.31% higher at 21,765.56, snapping eight straight sessions of losses – the longest such streak since September 2024.
Index dropped 1.9% for the week.
Renuka Foods PLC and Softlogic Capital PLC were the top percentage gainers on the index, up 11.9% and 9.7%, respectively, on the day.
Trading volume on the index fell to 65.4 million shares from 119.5 million shares in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 2.03 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($6.05 million) from 1.44 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 789.6 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.92 billion rupees, the data showed.
