KARACHI: Saylani Welfare International Trust organized orientation sessions under its “Skills for Employment” programme for candidates seeking vocational training in 11 different trades. The sessions were held at Gulshan-e-Iqbal from 10:00AM to 5:00PM, with nearly 5,000 candidates in attendance.

The Chief Guest at the event was Maulana Bashir Farooqui, Founder and Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust. Addressing the session, Maulana Bashir Farooqui said that Saylani is committed to ensuring that no citizen of Pakistan remains unemployed, uneducated, homeless, or deprived of medical treatment.

He said that under this vision, thousands of young people are being trained annually in IT and technical education. Millions of people receive free medical treatment every year, while nearly 250,000 people are served daily at Saylani Dastarkhwans. In addition, families affected by natural disasters are supported and provided with shelter. Saylani is also supplying approximately 35 million glasses of clean drinking water to the public every day.

Maulana Bashir Farooqui expressed concern that the country is trapped in debt, and nearly Rs8 trillion from this year’s national budget will be spent only on interest payments. “Despite these challenges, we remain committed to helping the country overcome its debt burden. Saylani’s IT and vocational training programmes are part of this national mission,” he said.

He added that poverty is increasing rapidly, but Saylani is determined to play its role in reducing poverty through skill development, IT education, and vocational training. “Every mission Saylani has undertaken so far has been fulfilled. The trained youth of Saylani’s IT and vocational program will contribute to the economy and have the potential to earn up to USD100 billion annually through freelancing,” he said.
