KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi on Saturday praised a newly launched book documenting the political and development initiatives of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and announced the purchase of 100 copies in his personal capacity to support the author.
Speaking as chief guest at the launch ceremony of “Nawaz Sharif ke 101 Tareekhi Kaam” (101 Historic Achievements of Nawaz Sharif), authored by Sohail Akhtar Asri, Hashmi said political leaders are remembered in history for their vision and ideology rather than personal political interests.
He said Nawaz Sharif’s contributions to infrastructure and economic development would secure his place in Pakistan’s political history, drawing comparisons with former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in terms of lasting political relevance.
Hashmi highlighted major projects initiated during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure, including the development of Gwadar Port, the motorway network and other infrastructure schemes, describing them as important milestones in Pakistan’s economic growth and regional connectivity.
