ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to impose 18 percent sales tax on stationery items through Finance Bill 2026.
Top government officials told Business Recorder that the proposal has been finalized and cleared from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The increased rate of 18 percent sales tax would be applicable from July 1, 2026.
The existing rate of sales tax on stationery items would be increased from 10 percent to 18 percent.
