Muslims nationwide will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with religious zeal, commemorating the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS) amidst elaborate security and civic arrangements.

LAHORE: The faithful will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on Wednesday (today) with religious zeal and fervour, to commemorate the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
The day will dawn with special prayers in the mosques for well-being of the Muslim Ummah and peace, progress and prosperity of the country.
Eid prayers’ congregations will be held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places in all cities, towns and villages across the country.

Ulema, in their Eid sermons, will highlight the significance and philosophy of great sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
After offering Eid, prayers, the faithful will offer sacrifice of animals to follow the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
The Federal and Provincial governments have chalked out elaborate security arrangements to ward off any untoward incidents.
Foolproof security arrangements have been made for Eid-ul-Azha across the province of Punjab, with strict implementation of security SOPs. Metal detectors and walk-through gates have been installed at major Eid congregations across Punjab.
The CM Punjab also directed officials to ensure real-time monitoring through the Safe City system during security operations and ordered strict implementation of the ban on camps established by proscribed organisations for collection of sacrificial hides.
She further directed district police officers to personally visit areas to ensure enforcement of the ban on camps set up by banned outfits and ordered authorities to prevent dissemination of hate material on social media and other platforms.
The Chief Minister also directed action against one-wheeling and hooliganism by motorcyclists during Eid holidays.
Eid prayers would be offered at 38,507 locations across the province. The local administrations of different cities and towns have also made special arrangements for disposal of offal and other solid wastes during the Eid days.
Leaves of officers and staff under the Suthra Punjab Authority have been cancelled to ensure uninterrupted sanitation operations during the Eid days. Over 21,000 WASA employees will remain on duty during Eid, while field officers’ leaves have been cancelled to ensure uninterrupted civic services.
Radio and TV channels will air special programmes in connection with Eid-ul-Azha while newspapers will publish special supplements, highlighting the importance of the Eid and sacrifice.
