Healthcare, energy stocks drag Sri Lankan shares lower

Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, due to losses in healthcare and energy stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled down 0.49% at 22,584.30.

Serendib Land PLC and Lankem Developments PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 5.06% and 4.95%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose to 97.9 million shares from 90.2 million in the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover fell to 2.15 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($6.7 million) from 4.81 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 107.3 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.09 billion rupees, the data showed.
