KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Saturday inaugurated a swimming pool at the Landhi Sports Complex, marking the reopening of the facility after nearly three decades.
Accompanied by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad and other party members, the Mayor said the revival of the complex would provide much-needed recreational facilities to residents of Landhi and Korangi.
“This facility has been restored after 30 years and will now serve the local community,” Wahab said.
He added that residents of Landhi and Korangi had long been deprived of basic amenities, alleging that past neglect had contributed to the deterioration of public infrastructure.
Officials said the reopening of the sports complex is part of broader efforts by the city administration to rehabilitate recreational facilities and improve urban services across Karachi.
