HAMBURG: Jordan’s state grains buyer purchased about 60,000 metric tons of hard milling wheat to be sourced from optional origins in an international tender on Tuesday, traders said.
It was believed to have been bought from Bulgarian trading house Buildcom at an estimated USD275.95 a ton and freight included (c&f) for shipment in the second half of July, they said.
Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are still possible later.
Traders said these other trading companies participated in Tuesday’s tender, with their offers per ton c&f: Bunge USD282, CHS USD279.88, Cargill USD276.83 and Ameropa USD284.49.
There were no immediate indications that a new tender will be issued by Jordan, they said. In its last reported wheat purchase on March 31, Jordan’s state grains buyer bought
about 60,000 tons from trading house Cargill at the same price of USD275.95 a ton c&f for shipment in the second half of July.
